Zanjan is a city in the north-western area of Iran. Zanjan rugs are well-known for their rich and exotic colours, which tend to be deep reds, browns and light blues. They are mostly geometric in design, and some believe them to be quite similar to the Bidjar rugs. The Zanjan rugs do tend to be larger and at a more affordable price to a Bidjar Persian rug.
