QUM SILK
The vast majority of Persian silk rugs are made in the city of Qum. The are very finely knotted and take an incredible amount of skill to weave. The entire foundation is made from pure silk - both the warp and weft are silk (sometimes only the warp).
Many of these rugs are signed by their weavers, some more famous than others.
