Aubusson
Aubusson is a town in central France, on the Creuse River. It has been globally well known for its weavings/ tapestries, since the 15th century. They have become known as some of the most elegant and high end rugs around. These French designs are rich in history and have become sought after within the interior design industry for years. Finding an original French antique Aubusson today is not only harder to come by, but has a price for collectors. Talented weavers in China have started to produce Aubusson designs, like this one here. They are incredibly well made (100% by hand) and are far more price accessible.
Do note that Aubusson's are flatweave rugs - they have no pile. Do get in touch if you would like to add an underlay to your order, as these tapestry style rugs are thinner than most.
