This is a Persian Nain rug, renowned for its fine and precise designs, crafted in a Persian city known for its high-quality workshops. Nain rugs feature a cotton foundation and a soft pile made of either wool or a wool-silk blend. The workmanship is exceptional, with a high knot density often exceeding one million knots per square metre.  

Common patterns include a central medallion surrounded by intricate arabesques and floral motifs. Nain rugs utilize three types of knots: 4La, 6La, and 9La. The term "La" translates to "Layer," indicating the number of thread layers in each warp. This classification helps determine the rug's quality—lower numbers signify finer, denser knots, resulting in a more exquisite carpet.
